ABOUT AERGIA
We're an independent streetwear brand founded in Birmingham, UK.
The name Aergia come from Greek Mythology; Aergia is the Goddess of Laziness.
Inspired by the juxtaposition of a opulent goddess with a personification of laziness we created a brand that values style and high quality paired with comfort.
Our vision is for our products to help transition throughout your day, this isn't about laziness its about EFFORTLESSNESS. We lead busy lives and Aergia is here to help make it that bit easier. Form meets function- streetwear for busy days, added functionality offers peace of mind. Safe and secure features prevent personal items from getting lost.
Our story...
Let me introduce myself. I'm Hannah, the owner and founder of Aergia.
Having a clothing brand has always been my dream. I love clothes and have also always strived towards running a business.
I studied fashion design at uni, also completing an internship for an independent designer in London. After graduating I took a bar job to start saving to move back to London.
Soon enough, Covid-19 hit and we went into Lockdown. All the uncertainty and restrictions put the idea of moving on the backburner BUT it was an amazing opportunity for me to pour time into creating the brand I've always wanted.
So I found the name and concept and Aergia was born!
In the early stages on the brand I made everything myself, being particularly meticulous over every stitch meant it would take hours and hours to make one item.
Once restrictions lifted and furlough ended, I had to go back to working in the bar full-time loosing the time I had to spend on the brand.
I kept my hopes going and started to search for manufacturers, ensuring the quality of products was to the high standard. Eventually I left my bar job where I'd (accidentally) worked my way up to a manager to solely work on setting up the brand. Continuing my search for a manufacturer and completing a water-tight business plan took a while, with a few minor set backs.
In March 2025 everything was completed and I placed my first bulk order of stock.
On Sunday 11th May, I hosted our launch event surrounded by my incredibly supportive family and friends. I felt such an outpour of love and I'll forever be grateful for the wonderful people I have in my life.
I am so excited to be able to continue this brand journey, it has been in the works for years but this is just the start!
